While my primary modality or "tool" is informed by The Wallace Method, my education includes lots of other modalities and knowledge bases that I use interchangeably and intuitively.
I started out as a pre-med student and later did more in-depth anatomy study. I'm back at that, what with all the cool new anatomy apps in 3D and 4D and rotational diagrams!
I earned a certificate in deep tissue massage in 1983. I studied The Wallace Method from 1995 on... it's an ongoing study! that's because everyone is so different in their structure and in their perception of what they are experiencing... it's what keeps things interesting!
Throughout my career, I sought out the answers to why some folks were not able to "release" some structural areas, This led me to the study of reflexes and what might be occurring neurologically. Beginning in 2006, I studied Rhythmic Movement Training with Dr. Harald Bloomberg, a psychiatrist from Sweden. Incredibly insightful, these movements have helped countless children and adults to live fuller lives. I am certified in Levels 1, 2 and 3 and Reflex Integration. I am also certified in Brain Gym.
In 2016 I completed my Master of Arts in Health Administration with a focus on Integrative Health and Medicine.
When it's called for, I use some effective energy work.
Most recently, I'm studying dance and absolutely loving it.
When I was 17 I was in a serious car accident. Our car was hit head-on by a dump truck. I was stuck between the steering wheel and the seat for too long. Long story short, It took about 4 months for me to be able to stand up straight and walk normally again. After the initial recovery, I thought I was fine for a few years. Then, when I was about 21, my right hip started bugging me. It was a sharp, shooting, sudden “gets ya good” kind of pain. It started to happen often, and always when I stood on that leg to put my pants on.
